High domestic demand and prosperity

The latest data released by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association last night showed that from January to March 2025, major excavator manufacturers sold a total of 61372 excavators, a year-on-year increase of 22.8%; Among them, 29590 excavators of various types were sold in March, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%.

Regarding this, Zhou Ershuang, an analyst at Dongwu Securities, stated that excavator sales in March continued to maintain high economic growth, exceeding market expectations, despite the relatively high base in March of last year.

At present, the construction machinery industry is entering the peak season. Preliminary statistics show that the average monthly working hours of the main products of construction machinery in March 2025 were 90.1 hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.53% and a month on month increase of 94.3%. During the peak season, the recovery of domestic demand has become the main driving force for the increase in excavator sales. From January to March 2025, the domestic sales of excavators reached 36562 units, a year-on-year increase of 38.3%; In March, the domestic sales volume was 19517 units, a year-on-year increase of 28.5%.
